Prices are high in Cairns, so I mostly cooked at home.

As a result, I only ate out twice.

Once, I went to a casino cafe with a local, and the other time was at Okar.

It's a famous restaurant that has won many awards.

My goal was bush tucker.

This restaurant serves dishes that incorporate bush tucker.

I actually wanted to come twice during my stay, but I didn't have time, so I only went once.

From the two-course special on the lunch menu,

I selected the Tablelands Beef Carpaccio from the small plates.

I ordered this because I wanted to try the green ants.

It had a sharp sourness and was crunchy. It's delicious with a nice texture.

This is grilled pork belly and apple salad.

The sauce under the pork is Davidson plum jam.

When it became a dish, the flavor was not very clear because it was overshadowed by the other ingredients.

I spread the jam I bought at the airport on the way back on bread,

so I could really taste the flavor.

The orange bits on top of the apple salad are finger lime.

Maybe because it was marinated, it didn't have the popping feeling I had imagined.

I still had some room in my stomach, so I ordered dessert.

It was cute and luxurious, but it was 18 AUD.

But this was so sweet that I could only eat half of it.

I couldn't eat it at the time, so I got it to go

Soft and fluffy, just delicious

In the ingredient description, it was described as coffee flavored, but

it was too small to really tell

It was only 10 AUD for this

That's expensive

This is advertised as a gourmet edition, but I'm sorry that only Oka-san got to try it

The next gourmet dish was Vegemite, which I really wanted to try

I spread a thin layer of it on the butter on the bread

The taste did not disappoint, in either a good or bad way

Salty and herbal

It felt like dissolving Seirogan and seasoning it with a strong salt

Indeed, the combination of butter and bread is not that unpleasant

Delicious I wouldn't go that far, but I can see why it's addictive once you get used to it.

I think I'll like it if it has a fishy smell, so next time I'll try it with some dried sardines on top.

Then, at MOOZ, the meeting place for the Aboriginal tour the other day, I had some gelato.

Passion fruit gelato.

I noticed that the yogurt on the first day was also passion fruit,

I thought I liked mangoes, but my taste seems to be changing to passion fruit.

The scenery was beautiful, it was delicious, and it was cold, so it was a vacation.

Eating is fun.

It was another new experience.
