Hades 2 Ambrosia Guide - How to Bond With Gods in Hades 2

Hades is the God who governs the Underworld. This is the place where people go after they die. He was a brutal and hated ruler in the Ancient Greek world.

He loved Persephone extremely. Her annual return to Hades regulated the seasons, with her absence creating harsh winters and her return giving life-giving springs.

Nectar

The primary method of ingratiating yourself with the gods in Supergiant Games' epic roguelike, Hades 2, is by giving Nectar to different characters from the Crossroads and Underworld. Nectar is a giftable item that can be used to open new dialogue with gods, increase your level of affluence with them by a factor of one and even get an item to keep for each god after you have given them your first bottle of Nectar.

You can find Nectar by giving it to specific characters in the Underworld such as Headmistress Hecate or by fulfilling Prophecies with the divine Boon gods. You can also obtain it by completing God-specific quests and sometimes, from the Wretched Broker located in the House of Hades. It can also be found in certain god-specific boons such as Sunken Treasure by Poseidon and Premium Vintage by Dionysus. Finally, fishing in Elysium is another way to obtain it.

After you've handed a character their first bottle of Nectar they'll offer to give you a Keepsake in return. Keepsakes are a special reminder of your friendship with a person, and can grant you various buffs that could make a huge difference in combat.

When you give a character his third or fourth Nectar bottle, you will unlock their Fated List Prophecies. This will allow you to progress in your relationship with that character by increasing the number shown on their index cards. Beyond that, you can continue to gift them Nectar to further your relationship with them and earn additional Keepsakes.

You can swap Keepsakes between characters in the large room of the House of Hades with Skelly the dummy for training, right next to your weapons and accessories. You can also purchase the Keepsake Collection and the Regional upgrade from the House Contractor to allow you to swap your Keepsake between regions. This allows you to quickly switch between your favourites and make the most from every god you have a strong relationship with.

Ambrosia

If you're playing the godlike roguelite Hades, Oscarreys.top then you've probably already discovered that Nectar is the key to establishing relationships with the gods. Ambrosia is a less common cousin of Nectar that can be used in other ways. In this guide, we'll guide you through the best ways to get your hands on this potent resource.

Ambrosia was a mystical substance the Greek gods drank or consumed. It was believed to bring immortality on whoever consumed it. It was also used to cover foul smells. In the Odyssey, for example when Menelaus, his army and the seal skins they wore were disguised, a goddess carrying ambrosia descending from heaven appeared to disguise the noxious smell.

Ambrosia, a special food that was reserved for the Olympian Gods, oscarreys.Top was utilized in rituals as a method to distinguish between immortality and mortality. It was also an emblem of divine perfection as illustrated in the tale of Achilles who was anointed with ambrosia by his mother Thetis to make him immortal. However, oscarreys in the end Achilles was mortal once more because his heel was left untreated.

In addition to being consumed and drunk by the Olympian gods, ambrosia could also be used as an ointment or salve for wounds or to anoint corpses. In two different myths, it is mentioned that Apollo applied ambrosia to Sarpedon's corpse, and Thetis applied the ambrosia to the body of Patroclus. These myths could be meant to suggest that immortality is a gift which can be snatched away as easily as it was given.

While modern scholars have suggested that ambrosia is likely honey, there is also the possibility that it was intended to be a hallucinogenic plant called Amanita Muscaria. This could explain why the ancients believed it gave immortality.

Keepsakes

Like Ambrosia, Keepsakes are used to impress the gods in Hades 2. Supergiant Games' epic reimagining of Greek mythology features some of the most effective pantheon building mechanics in recent history. The game lets you give Nectar to any god or npc while you battle through the Underworld, and some gods will reward you with a the gift of a Keepsake in return. These unique items offer beneficial buffs that make it much easier for Oscarreys.Top Zagreus to escape the Underworld.

Keepsakes, unlike Boons can be upgraded throughout many runs. This can be done by defeating enemies in locations that have the god's Keepsake attached or by visiting the god's store at the Crossroads. The item's Rank will rise and will also give you an additional benefit that can be used during combat. Keepsakes are ranked according to the number of battles they have been used in. This is an excellent way to increase your damage or heal.

There are 16 total Keepsakes that each have a unique benefit. They're an excellent option to prioritize your gifts when fighting for your life in the Underworld. These are also a great alternative to the traditional gods' boons, especially if you don't want wait for them to spawn in the Rift or God Gate.

Certain gods have their own keepsakes, but you must visit their respective shops in the Underworld. Charon offers a unique location in the Rift of Thessaly. Sisyphus can be located on one of the ships that are at the Merchant's Circle or Medea is located in the City of Ephyra. Hecate is another god that gives you a Keepsake when you give her Nectar in the city of Thebes although hers can be tricky to acquire as she only spawns during battle above the ground.

Hecate's Keepsake for instance, allows the player to automatically restore some of their magick each night, up to a certain amount that is determined by Keepsake Rank. It also reduces how much damage the player takes from the front, and deals some additional damage when attacking from behind.

Keepsake Keepsake

In addition to the gods themselves, Hades offers a number of other characters with whom you can establish relationships (purely platonic, oscarreys sorry). Gifting them bottles of Nectar can sometimes provide them with special gifts that increase Zagreus' abilities when he tries to escape from the Underworld. These gifts are known as Keepsakes and they're one of the most important items in the game.

The way they work is simple every time you complete an encounter, there's a chance your character will get their Keepsake upgraded by three ranks or more. When the Keepsake reaches rank three it will be granted an additional buff that can be applied to the following encounter. These buffs can include:

Sigil of Death: Increases ZagreusGod Gauge's default percentage once an encounter begins. Hades's aid call fills the gauge after activation. Can be improved by adjusting it to a higher level, but unequipping it between levels resets the God Gauge percentage to zero.

Each god's Keepsake has unique buffs, which can be incredibly helpful in both the early and late stages of the game. We recommend you pick up the Cerberus Keepsake Old Spiked Collar as soon as you can to boost your health.

The rest of the gods' Keepsakes are also worth grabbing as soon as you can. The Arachne, Narcissus and Megaera Keepsakes are especially useful because they allow you to get a new weapon very early.
