GreenPower Motor green Scooters Company manufactures a complete line of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles, including lower-floor and high-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate a variety of upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for optimal battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity, resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one interior wall structure and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, improved temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo, and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission freight or passenger transport.

GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will enable fleets to easily transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging of 75 kW.

We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for a few hours on a local highway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth and smooth over bumps and ruts, and the EV9 does a great job of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising fast, and it comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that permit "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.

The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged within three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer a unique driving experience for anyone that has not driven an electric vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool, or a paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the needs of the Biden Administration, which is looking to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested by Altoona and FMVSS-certified. Buy America compliant and ADA certified. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants.
