It is a little tricky to test as there are several connector pins, and each has its own functions. The best method for doing this is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. Check for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced an abrupt drop in power like the engine is out of gas or injectors aren't firing any more. I took out the spark plugs this morning, three were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was dry. I put tissue over each injector hole and when I start the engine without sparks, the ones that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one remains shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got zero ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it runs fine with the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue persists at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is zero.
I'm not certain what to do, as i feel i have pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump of the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor.
